Translators at the Frankfurt Book Fair

Uebersetzer Zentrum

Two ideal platforms for networking: Weltempfang – Centre for Politics, Literature and Translation, and the Frankfurt Who’s Who.
Translations are an essential part of the international trade in book rights. Without translators there would be no world literature nor, in fact, would there be any international book fairs. We offer you the right platforms for networking all year round.

The Frankfurt Book Fair offers translators an ideal opportunity for exchange and networking with business partners and colleagues. In the centre Weltempfang ("hosting the world") there will be numerous events involving translators. It’s also worth taking a peek inside the Frankfurt Who's Who.

The "Weltempfang"

Weltempfang 2010 24577

Centre for Politics, Literature and Translation Weltempfang - the name ("hosting the world") says it all
In the Weltempfang, there will be readings and discussion events with international authors, intellectuals and translators. In 2012 there will be a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, but a lot of other topics will be discussed as well. Sub-Saharan Africa is as versatile as underestimated. Its richness, transformation processes and challenges will be discussed in different events.

Weltempfang, located in hall 5.0 includes a large stage for events with a big public appeal. It also has a Salon for special interest discussions and literary encounters. The section is rounded off with a café area to be used for further discussion, as somewhere to arrange to meet, or just for relaxation.

litprom
